The Brightness slider is the midpoint setting, meaning you can prioritize dark or light, but a balanced value is recommended.
Like Hitman 3, this game seems to have problems with black levels in HDR mode, which can cause the game to look low contrast and washed out colors. Adjusting the Brightness slider will not fix this problem. You can try to compensate the black level with the TV settings or switch to SDR.

For PC version of the game you can try fix the HDR and Depth of Field (blurry font/distant objects) with IDKFA method from Steam community:
