F1 22 - HDR Settings

F1 22 Cover

This game does not seem to use the PS4, PS5 & Xbox HDR system calibration settings.
Before adjusting, make sure you have set the TV settings correctly.

F1 22 Peak Brightness

The game has a Peak Nit Adjustment slider that adjusts the peak brightness. While the slider doesn't have exact nit values, it's easy to understand the brightness values: multiply the slider value by 100. So a value of 8 is 800 nits, 15 is 1500 nits, and etc.

But the tested version 1.00.89.6636 for the Xbox Series seems to have problems: the peak brightness is fixed at about 380 nits and is not adjusted by the Peak Nit Adjustment slider. Also, equal levels of peak brightness look like stretched SDR brightness.

Use your TV's Tone Mapping modes. If the image seems too bright or you have other problems in HDR mode, then switch to SDR mode by turning off HDR in the console menu.
